LUVeR tapes to the Internet Archive
The Internet Archive has accepted our donation offer of all of the physical materials from LUVeR, Love Underground Visionary Revolution, the audio/video streaming station Frank started in February 1999 that ran until April 27, 2012. LUVeR featured shows by live streaming DJs from all over the world, taped shows created by the DJs for their time slots, and streaming video shows. Frank also did a live video 2.5 hour show, the Shaman’s Den, almost every Sunday night that featured live bands, politicians, activists, poets, authors and anyone Frank found interesting and wanted to have a conversation with. This collection of audio and video material is the archive of these shows that were created for LUVeR.
All of the Frank Moore Shaman’s Den shows have been previously digitized and uploaded to the Internet Archive. Normally, they only accept materials that have not already been uploaded. But they want to preserve the entire collection!
They have a warehouse in Richmond, California where they preserve physical media collections like this.
Here is how Frank Moore described LUVeR on the home page of the website:
“I’m Frank Moore. I am to blame for starting LUVeR in 1999. LUVeR has bloomed over the years. LUVeR is a totally new communication media which combines live streaming, on-demand libraries of programming, audio, and video. LUVeR is an anti-corporate, anti-capitalist revolution! LUVeR is and will remain a non-corporate, d.i.y., totally uncensored, noncommercial, nonprofit internet-only communal collective with 24-hour “live” programming (by amazing people) with “no-limits” content. LUVeR is the African drums beating warnings! It is the visions of change, the rich and diverse voices of the people! LUVeR is a listeners-viewers/artists-supported channel. LUVeR is a tribal channel! Nobody will try to sell you anything here.
LUVeR is based on shows created/webcasted by individuals around the world, created from their personal passions. These individuals have total control over their shows, insuring the channel’s freedom and independence. This also insures that the channel is accessible to voices, music, creativity, news, visions, histories, etc. which have been frozen out of the commercial media.
Yep, LUVeR is very dangerous to the powers that suppress people! We are taking OUR cultures, OUR music, OUR web, OUR freedoms back ... back into our communal human family. We simply reject the fragmentation, isolation, ownership, and the worship of profit. We people together are dangerous ... love, passion, and simple unlimited fun are dangerous. So THEY will come after LUVeR, will try to shut us down, gag us. And THEY might succeed ... for a while! But until THEY do come after us, we will be here, spinning dreams! And we will just go deeper underground when THEY come for us. Hey! We are LOVE UNDERGROUND VISIONARY REVOLUTION!”
