Frank needs your help!
The money we received from the sale of two of Frank’s paintings in 2023 ran out earlier this year and the two of us are now supporting the archiving of Frank’s work from our social security income and savings.
We cannot afford to do this but we feel a profound sense of responsibility to keep Frank’s work alive and available to people around the world as long as we are alive.
We have spent the last two years finding ways to reduce our expenses: we were able to get rid of our storage space, lower our web hosting from $200/mth to $25/mth, and close a Vimeo account.
But we still need around $600 a month to cover what it costs.
Please help us keep Frank’s work alive by making a recurring monthly donation of $5, $10 or $20 here:
https://inter-relations.com/donate.html
With your recurring donation, along with a number of Frank gifts, we send you an update at the beginning of each month about our archiving activities for the month just passed. You are also the first to hear about possible upcoming exhibits and presentations of Frank’s paintings or other work.
Frank’s work has continued to remain controversial since his death. Vimeo removed his account and the 800 videos uploaded there, both Frank’s and Linda’s Facebook accounts were suspended and web hosting companies have pulled our websites and suspended our accounts because of nudity. We tried to set up a Patreon account to accept donations but Stripe, the service that processes payments for Patreon, GoFundMe, and almost every other donation service like them, rejected our account because of the content of our work.
We cannot collect cash subscriptions on any of our three Substacks because they also use Stripe.
Despite all of this, people are still managing to find the work:
Eroplay.com has had 84,000 visitors over the past 4.5 months.
Frank’s videos on Archive.org have had 5.4 million views since September 2019.
Our Flickr account has had 18 million views since November 2018.
Our three Substacks combined are getting around 2,000 views each month.
Here is a list of some of our regular expenses:
Web Hosting and Domain names: There are 13 websites and 14 domain names that are part of the Frank Moore archive.
Archive-it.org: We are in the second year of the process of creating a “permanent” online archive of all of Frank’s websites. It is a slow and tedious process that involves recreating or modifying the code of many sections of the website so that they will archive correctly. We are hoping to be able to finish by the end of our current subscription ($500) period but we may need another year.
Hard drives: We have about 30 external hard drives where we archive Frank’s digitized videos, photos and backup working project files. We replace each of them after 5 years of use, so each year there are several that need to be replaced.
Publishing costs: This includes purchasing proof copies of books and keeping a small inventory of each title to sell and send to select libraries.
Flickr: Flickr serves as cloud storage for all of the photos we scan from the archives. There are over 40,000 photos on our Flickr account.
Computer equipment: Linda’s computer died this past summer and we had to replace it. We have several computers that we use for Frank projects. Each has a specific function like video editing, digitizing audio tapes, digitizing video tapes, email and office work, etc. and they are all getting old. Our scanner is ancient but absolutely essential right now as we are processing the last of the materials for the Bancroft Library which involves scanning over 7,000 slides and photos.
Dropbox: Frank’s public access TV show continues to play 4 nights a week on Berkeley’s public access channel, B-TV. We also still sponsor The Dr Susan Block Show on B-TV. We pay a yearly out-of-state membership fee plus we need a large amount of Dropbox storage for transferring the shows to them.
Luckily, after much research, we found Donorbox, a place where we can accept donations.
Your donations go to our non-profit 501(c)(3), Inter-Relations, and are tax-deductible.
Please help us if you can. We appreciate any support you can afford!
